Artists: Rosa Everts & Julio Pastor

In her work Rosa Everts (1986) investigates topics such as absence, emptiness and invisibility. She tries to capture these in drawings and installations, seemingly without subject. She tries to keep her subject matter as small as possible: a table top with just some blank papers and an empty shop window. Her work radiates an alienating kind of emptiness, but the longer you look at it, the more there is to be seen.

Julio Pastor (1981) sees the city, in his case Mexico-City, as a place full of stories. In his latest work he combines his skilfully made watercolours with drawings of (fictional) Wikipedia pages. He wants to indicate that painting and the Internet both offer a possibility to bend the truth in a believable manner.
