Artist: Anton Heyboer
Anton Heyboer (1924 – 2005), one of Holland’s most important artists of the 20th century, made his best work between 1969 and 1976. They were simply overwhelming, in both form and visual wealth. He creates a world where art and life are almost in touch, by simple and carefully mastered interventions. His visual system is made up of various repetitive elements of lining, stylized figures, circles and ratio’s. You think you’re looking at an image you’re not familiar with but that changes rapidly and leaves you thinking it has always been there.
