Various Artists is a 24-piece art collective, based in Brussels. It was founded in 1993, when the artist Trudo Engels (1962) ‘distributed’ his art among various fictitious characters. The collective is a Gesamtkunstwerk, in which research; subjects and artistic practices all come together in united installations or projects.

Yasser Ballemans (1981) is looking for a natural form of art within the contemporary, cultural and functional domain. He is interested in rituals and parties; carnival in particular plays an important part in his work. He participated in a carnival parade on the island of Curacao, along with art students and psychiatric patients. His work reflects the tension between individual identity and disappearing in a crowd.
